(This section is new and relates to the Web Style Guide's requirement for a global standard footer. This section will be available soon.)

Transfering Files to/from the Web Server

Once you have logged in, you should see a two pane display:

  • The pane on the left shows local files on your computer
  • The pane on the right shows remote files on the web server. The remote directory displayed is the website directory for the account. For example:
    • A personal account has a directory such as /people/jsmith
    • A departmental account has a directory such as /org/athletics
  • The drop-down box on the right side (highlighted in red in figure 7) shows the current directory

You can transfer files between your computer and the web server in several ways. Begin by navigating in the left pane to the directory in which your website files are stored on your computer. Select the website files that you want to transfer to the server. You may then:

  • drag and drop
  • copy and paste from the edit menu
  • upload/download from the Operation menu
